Christmas Tag 2017, what I love most about Christmas

Thank you Cass from The Diary of a Frugal Family for tagging me in The Christmas Tag.  If you would like to read the post from all the other Bloggers who have joined in, please see the links at the bottom of the post.

What’s Your Favourite Christmas Movie?

I love Jingle All The Way starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as it is such a feel good movie laced with comedy.  I also love the silliness that is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - especially the bit where he has covered his house with lights and then finds they don't work.

Have You Ever Had A White Christmas?

Yes, but it was a while ago now.

As my parents live 30 miles away from us, we actually hope it doesn't snow on Christmas Day, otherwise they wouldn't be able to get to us.  Other than that, I love making snowmen, having snowball fights and sledging with the boys.

Where Do You Usually Spend Your Holiday?

We spend Christmas at home and my parents come for the day.  Unfortunately, my husband's parents are no longer alive, so it is just the 6 of us for Christmas Day.

What Is Your Favourite Christmas Song?

This is Last Christmas by Wham.  It was a massive hit when I was a teenager and can take me back to those times in an instant.

Can You Name All Of Santa’s Reindeer?

Rudolph, Dasher, Prancer, Vixen - Oh that is going to bug me now.  I might have to Google it.  I was sure I could remember them all!

What Holiday Traditions Are You Looking Forward To This Year?

We will be putting up the tree and decorating it this weekend. Even now, the boys like to join in with this.

On Christmas Eve we will pop into town when it gets dark to go and see all the Christmas Lights.   We usually then have a meal together before heading back home.  Most years we track Santa.  The boys say they don't want to this year but they usually get me to check where he is.

What Is The Best Christmas Present You Ever Received?

I think this has to be the year I received a tape recorder that could actually record from the radio without picking up everyone's voice.  That makes me feel so old!

Most Memorable Christmas Memory?

I have a couple, the first two are the boys' first Christmases.  A new baby makes Christmas so special.

Another one was the Christmas we all spent at my Brother's house.  This was the last Christmas we were all together before he and his family emigrated to Australia.

What Made You Realise The Truth About Santa?

I always used to receive a sack of presents at the end of my bed from Santa.  One year, however, my Dad (aka Santa) knocked into my bed whilst delivering them and I woke up.  It wasn't too disastrous.  I think I was about 10 then and people at school had already started to question whether Santa was real.

What Makes The Holidays Special For You?

Spending the time with family.  We are lucky that both my husband and I work at places that close between Christmas and New Year, so this is a great break for all of us.  We also manage to get a family holiday away for a few days too.  This year we are off to Brussels and Bruges.

I’d love you to answer some of the questions in the comments below.
