Travel Wish List

15 Places on My Travel Wish List

travel, wish list, travel planning, travel itinerary, places to go, travel diary

I thought it would be fun to write a travel wish list.  We have visited lots of places, but there are so many more that we would like to go to.

We have less travel planned this year as eldest son has his GCSEs, so all the school holidays, from now until after the exams, will be taken up with revision.

However, in July we will be travelling to both Rome and Barcelona.  We have visited both cities before – Barcelona is one of our favourite places and this will be our 5th visit.  We have also visited Rome before but that was a long time ago, around 1991 I think and before children.  This will be the first time as a family.

Having visited Venice last year, which was amazing, it will be interesting to see what they think of Rome.

Now, on to the Wish List.  I am making two lists – the first list is places we wish to visit that we have never visited before and the second list is of places we have previously visited but would love to go again:

Route 66

Places we have not visited before:

  • St Petersburg, Russia
  • Tallinn, Estonia
  • Helsinki, Finland
  • Stockholm, Sweden
  • Madrid, Spain
  • Lisbon, Portugal
  • Dublin, Ireland
  • Belfast, Northern Ireland
  • Florida, America
  • Los Angeles, America
  • Route 66, America
  • Brisbane, Australia
  • Marseille, France
  • Reykjavik, Iceland
  • Canada

Places we have been but would like to go again:

  • New York, America
  • Nice, France
  • Monaco, France
  • Paris, France
  • Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Oslo, Norway

I think that’s enough to be going on with.  Actually, it has surprised me seeing it written down.  Many of them will not involve major travel costs, so we definitely have some to aim for.  The more long haul travel will have to wait quite some time until our funds allow this.

This list is not exhaustive, I have not even begun to include the likes of China, the Caribbean, New Zealand, UAE etc.  These are definitely for a long way into the future – unless I win the lottery – except that I don’t do the lottery, so there’s no chance of that – ha, ha.  In the meantime, there are hopes and dreams and that is what keeps me going.

How about you – what travel plans do you have this year or in the future?

Do you have a place that you love so much you visit again and again?
