If you are trying to save money, you will need to look at everything you currently buy and consider trying cheaper alternatives. I needed a new lipstick and was hoping I could continue saving money on make-up too. I was surprised to see Poundland had a make-up range. For only £1 I decided I had nothing to lose by trying it out. Here's what I thought.
I am not one for wearing a lot of make-up. It’s not that I don’t feel I need it, it is actually that I can’t really be bothered. Even when I was younger, I wasn’t to be found spending hours in front of a mirror applying makeup. I would rather have spent the time on my hair. I have always worn makeup though but usually just mascara, blusher and lipstick and new that even on my minimal purchases I could find ways of saving money on make-up.
I was browsing around Poundland a couple of weeks ago and came across their makeup. I hadn’t even noticed they sold makeup before. I decided to try a lipstick and bought a pale pink one.
When I got home and tested it out, I was extremely surprised at how smooth it was to apply, how well it stayed on and how moisturising it was.
The following weekend, when I was in Poundland again (I love Poundland!) I went straight to the makeup section and purchased another lipstick, this time in a brighter pink shade.
I love these lipsticks and for only £1 each I can afford to get a whole range of colours or even have a different colour for every day of the week. Now there’s a thought!
Glad I'm Not a Make-up Blogger
I tried to take some photos of me wearing the two different shades I bought. Who knew how difficult that was going to be. They are a bit blurry - sorry. Plus, zooming in on my lips has made me realise they are slightly wonky (I hadn’t noticed this before lol) as well as highlighting wrinkles – although I have tried to crop most of those out of the photos. Anyway, here are the two shades I have:
Have you tried Poundland makeup? What did you think? I would be interested to know what the other make up products are like if you’ve tried any?
Why not pin this for later?
