This week I haven't managed five fabulously frugal things, only 4! But considering the amount of spending this week has had, I am really pleased to have Four Frugal Things.
You may be wondering how I can write about frugal things I've done, when I've just admitted to having a rather spendy week. Well, sometimes it is inevitable that you have to spend money. The important thing is that when you do spend, you spend consciously and make sure you get the best deals.
My favourite roll-on was on offer in Sainsburys. I have tried cheaper ones, but nothing matches my favourite so I resign myself to its hefty price tag. I had completely run out, so was really happy to see that it was on offer and decided to pick up 2.
2. Meal Out
On Tuesday I had a lovely meal out with my eldest. Now his GCSEs have finished and there is no more school, he caught the bus in to town to meet me from work. I treated him to a meal and let him choose the venue and the place he chose accepted NUS cards, so I was able to get a discount on the price.
We had a great time and it was an absolute pleasure to sit and enjoy a meal with a young man (not a child anymore) who I am extremely proud of.
3. Free Sports
At the weekend we made the most of our local park. It has tennis courts, an outdoor gym and foot golf. All the activities are free and we had a great time together and it cost us absolutely nothing.
4. Free Coffee
Another free coffee with the McDonalds coffee beans!
Actually, I have made 5!! I have to put the cycling in each week, otherwise I would only get 4 frugal things!
