Although this is Random Mid-Week Blog Post 8 , I ran out of time to write this post last week. It was the last push for the GCSEs and I used every spare minute working on my side hustles and managed to achieve quite a lot.
Goals for LAST week
These were actually my goals for two weeks ago: I ran out of time last week to do my Random Mid-Week Blog Post.
- The 3 gigs that I have on Fiverr need to be added to The New Website (as these will form part of my offerings).
- I want to download Photoshop Lite and test it out.
- I would like to lose more weight. I would love 2 lbs.
- Get another blog post written and scheduled for August.
- Finish formatting the package page and upload the price list I created.
- Hold the first planning session with eldest for our joint side hustle.
- Continue try to streamline side hustle no. 4.
Instead of editing my planned blog post, I ended up sitting down and writing a different post. As I was writing that post, two more ideas popped into my head, so I made a brief start on those too. If I can schedule the time this week, I should be able to get these properly written, get the images created, upload them and the social media scheduled.
Just as I was saying how I was consistently getting work on Fiverr, it has dropped off again. I have a template, which I will customise with their own images and text. The time limit that I set to create this media kit is 2 days.
However, I got a tricky customer who ordered a media kit. This particular client wanted quite significant changes made to the original template. I should have said no, but it was the only order I had at the time, so I decided to go with it. Anyway, they were late getting some information to me, which meant I went over the time limit slightly. This now affects my rating on Fiverr and to top it off, the client only left me a 4 star rating, saying that I had put text in the wrong places - when I clearly followed the exact instructions she had given me! Nevermind, onwards and upwards.
The New Website (Side Hustle No. 2)
I managed to pull in quite a bit of work on this at the weekend. I now have a format planned for each 'product page'. I am really happy with how this is progressing. Lack of time is the only barrier here at the moment. I have also started to plan a social media schedule for when I launch this. This still needs some work, but is coming along nicely.
The Other Website (Side Hustle No. 3)
I am pleased to say that work on this has started in earnest. Eldest is really enjoying learning how to design a website using WordPress and is now fully aware of what widgets and plugins are. We will spend more time getting the website how we want it and then plan exactly what we will be including on there. He has lots of ideas so there will be some research required to see how these will fit in to the main theme.
Side Hustle No. 4
I didn't manage to automate side hustle number 4 and this has taken a back seat whilst I spend time on side hustle number 3. I still manage to post consistently with the help of auto posters, and I am getting lots of click, but nothing has resulted in any earnings yet. I also haven't made a big push on social media for this side hustle, so that is something that I need to address eventually too.
When you first start a blog there is so much information out there that it is difficult to take it all in. I found myself signing up to all sorts of fantastic groups, website etc but since doing so have not devoted any time to continue to use these resources. One such site is The Money Shed. This is an amazing website and I was drawn to it as it has a wealth of information related to increasing your income. I spent some time at the weekend checking the site out again and will need to spend more time as it is fantastic. If you haven't already and you are interested in making more money, I would definitely recommend you take a look.
The Coming Week
I set myself quite a number of goals last week. As you can see from the above, I didn't manage to achieve all of them. The weight loss alluded me this week and I am not hopeful for next week's weigh in either. I hardly ever eat out (usually trying to save money!) but this week I will be eating out 3 times!!
The first meal out is taking place today. Eldest son is coming to meet me from work and we are going into town. I am going to treat him to a meal before we go shopping.
I sorted out all his clothes at the weekend and got him to try everything on. He had grown out of quite a lot, so it is time to replace some items. He is then going to buy some items himself - you know, those items that he could get for £10 but wants the £30 ones! We determine what he will pay for by whether it is a want or a need. If it is a need, then I say how much I am prepared to pay. If he wants to pay more, then he pays the difference. This works well for us and also has the added advantage of meaning he looks after his clothes more.
The second meal out is with the husband. We are going out - just the two of us! - and are going to try a new restaurant that has opened up nearby.
The third meal out is taking place on a boat - a cruise down the river with a Sunday lunch. This is to celebrate the 60th Wedding Anniversary of my Auntie and Uncle. 60 years - wow!
Goals for the week
I need to carry two goals over from last week. Again, I don't think I will finish the gig I have planned, but I would at least like to make some progress.
- Continue to write and schedule blog posts
- Continue to work on side hustle number 2 - I am aiming for a launch date of 1 September
- Continue to work on side hustle number 3
- Try to cut back on other foods to allow for the meals out I have this week!
What about you?
I would love to hear about your goals for the week or any side hustles you are thinking of working on. Let me know in the comments below or send me an email!
