No Goal Setting this month
Usually, at the beginning of the month, I write my goals post. A list of all the things I want to achieve. Not this month though.

This year instead of making New Year’s Resolutions, I am making monthly goals. New Year’s Resolutions seem too final. How often do you make a resolution only for you to give up completely or your priorities change. That’s why I am going to have monthly goals. These seem far more achievable and can be dynamic throughout the year.

I really like compiling these posts of what happened in the previous month. It makes me realise what I have achieved and it’s great to look back to see what I got up to.
Do you need to declutter? Find out the things that I learned during the massive declutter we had 3 years ago.
If you need to save money on your groceries, check out this recipe. Using my slow cooker, I show how I make a large batch of Spaghetti Bolognese from just 1kg beef mince.
Have you been to Berlin? We went in December and I finally got around to writing about our trip.
I loved writing this post as I love reading why other people started their blogs or businesses. I also shared the 5 things that took me by surprise.
Do you want an easy way to make some money? There are a number of survey apps around. Citizen me seems to be unique as there is no minimum pay out and you ‘earn’ a cash reward which is paid immediately.
A realisation of how little things can add up.
Do you like pancakes? We love them and look forward to indulging on Pancake Day each year. Of course, you don’t have to wait a year to eat them, they are good at any time!
I have some great things planned for March on the blog and we also have my eldest son’s 16th Birthday which we are looking forward to celebrating. Do you have any celebrations this month?

My goal for this year is to investigate way to increase my income. This post was written as an introduction to the types of opportunities I would be investigating.
My first step towards increasing my income was to sign up with Receipt Hog. This is a really easy way to earn a small amount of money by just taking photos of your receipts. So far, I have 1090 ‘coins’ which are worth £3, although I am waiting until the end of the year to see how much I have before cashing in.
Early January saw me creating my ‘Group Board for New Bloggers’ after finding it initially difficult to join group boards as a ‘newbie’ on Pinterest. My board now has 34 collaborators – not all are new bloggers, some are new pinners – but all are welcome and I have changed the name to ‘Group Board for New Bloggers and New Pinners’. We also have 118 followers of this board too. If you would like to join, please email me your Pinterest name and I will send you an invitation.
I shared a brilliant offer from DFDS for 2-4-1 on a mini cruise to Amsterdam and shared stories of mini cruises I have been on too.
I wrote about the benefits of an Iceland Bonus Card, not least how you can get free food.
I made a fun, free Make a Start, Savings Chart which you can receive as a printable to encourage you to start saving NOW for Christmas.
We tried a new recipe which the family have requested again. I showed how I had adapted the ingredients to use only what I had in and how this Quick and Easy, Homemade Curry took only as long as the rice took to boil.
I then created a Step-by-Step Guide to help anyone who would like to ‘Claim their Blog on Bloglovin’. If this is something you would like to do use my easy to follow guide.
What a fantastic variety of happenings during January. There should be something there for everyone.
Here’s to a fantastic February.
